The history of the Florence Crittenton Agency, Inc. begins in 1896, when a group of community leaders in Knoxville, Tennessee established a home for young women in crisis. The original founders of the Florence Crittenton Agency modeled their program on the work of the Florence Crittenton Mission in Washington, D.C.
The Florence Crittenton Agency, Inc. in Knoxville, Tennessee offers both residential and outpatient programs that aim to support those experiencing mental health challenges, substance abuse, and involvement in the foster-care system. Residential programs consist of Crittenton Youth Services and Youth Summit of Recovery, while Outpatient programs include the Addiction Recovery Center, Square One, and Foster Care. The Florence Crittenton Agency provides on-campus academic services for the residential programs through their New Pathways Academy and utilizes Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational interviewing as their primary treatment modalities.
Crittenton Youth Services provides specialized services for girls 13-18 years old struggling with behavioral or emotional challenges or substance abuse through therapeutic and educational services. Youth may also be referred to intensive individual and family therapy or substance abuse treatment programs within FCA based on the individual’s needs.
Youth Summit Recovery is available for both male and female youth 13-17 years old experiencing severe substance abuse challenges and dual-diagnosis. Youth are offered individualized treatment plans that include daily substance abuse treatment, individual and group therapy, support groups, family counseling, medication management, medical care, education, and after care planning.
The Square One intensive outpatient program offers substance abuse treatment and rehabilitation to teens also experiencing mental health challenges. Square One provides individualized treatment plans that utilizes a three-phase counseling approach that includes assessment and evaluation, individual therapy, group and family therapy, and educational activities.
The Foster Care program offers training, support, and preparation for families to specialize in providing safe and secure home for children who have been removed from their home due to abuse, neglect, or their family is experiencing a crisis. Services are available for both the children and the foster families and include case-management, in-home services, assistance and training around behavioral management, child education support, on-going training for parents, and 24/7 on-call support.

She has been with the Florence Crittenton Agency, Inc. since 2008 and is skilled in Nonprofit Organizations, Career Development, Coaching, Crisis Intervention, and Clinical Supervision. She is a strong business development professional with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) focused in Counseling Psychology from Cornerstone University.
